What are your carpet tiles made of?

We used two main types of carpet fibre to construct our carpet tiles: Nylon and Polypropylene. These fibre tuffs are then inserted either into a PVC or bitumen compound which is coated onto a backing fabric to form the carpet tile. NYLON Is the dominant fibre today in commercial carpet tiles because of its wear characteristics. Due to its tight molecular structure it offers; More resistance to UV rays and harsh chemicals, better ability to withstand spills and stains and better resistance to crushing and matting with good appearance retention. POLYPROPYLENE Is a manmade fibre that is soft to the touch and has great soil and stain retention. This fibre also has great colour fastness and good appearance retention.
