A:Quarter turning a carpet tile means that each tile is placed at a 90-degree angle from its adjacent tile. The tiles have directional arrows on their back, which makes this easy to do. This is especially attractive when your tile has a lineal pattern or sisal type texture. It creates a depth; as well as, a popular visual appearance due to a subtle change of texture in the alternating tiles. Any tile may be installed in this manner.
