Why do the lines appear?
During the manufacturing process as the carpet is stitched, straight lines will appear through the warp (length) of the carpet and as the carpet is rolled bands of different colour will appear across the weft (width) of the carpet caused by pressure from the weight of the roll.
The roll is a soft product and will flatten at the bottom where the weight of the roll is concentrated.
When the carpet is rolled out for installation areas will have pile crush giving the impression of colour and texture distortion that look like bands or line on the carpet pile.
